At least you have one packet of baking soda in your house.Basically you use in kitchen, baking soda also very helpful in fighting bad odour and also for household cleaning but it has more magical use in gardening also let see below 



  1.  Get more flower bloom. flower which thrives in alkaline soil like hydrangeas,begonias, geraniums by using baking soda you can make more flower blooms. just dissolve little baking soda in water and pour it in pot.
  2. If you want to keep vase flower longer look fresh than add teaspoon baking soda in flower vase water.
  3. If you want sweet tomato than sprinkle in small amount of baking soda around it soil. baking soda helps in making acidic level decrease which makes your tomatoes from tart flavor to sweet flavor.
  4. Give Plant a boost, Mix 1 teaspoon baking soda, 1/2 teaspoon clear ammonia and 1 teaspoon epsom salt  in a gallon of water. Mix well and give each plant 1/4 or Quarter solution.This will help those plant who is looking dull growing slow it can make them grow faster and rejuvenate and having lush green leaves. 
  5. Use as it Pesticide, using baking soda helps in effectively decrease infestation of many insect such as Aphids,scales and Spider mites. you may not get rid them 100% but it may helps in stopping in growing more you need 1 teaspoon of baking soda and 1/3 cup of oil (olive,mustard,neem and etc). take 2 teaspoon of this solution and add in 1 cup in water and spray on the infected plant.
  6.  Smelly compost- to remove bad smell from your compost sprinkle some baking soda on compost it helps in reducing in acidic level which produce while in the process of making.
  7. Want to get rid of weeds and grass - just pour thick layer on your weed or grassy area where you want to get rid it kill sprouting grass and foliage with in a few days.
  8.  Test Ph level of your soil - just take small amount of soil and pour little baking soda and add water if bubble formed than it means your soil is acidic .
